A true rock-n-roll story in 100 Words.
Paul Simon was at a career nadir when labelmates Los Lobos were asked to sit in with him during his sessions for Graceland.
After days of silence, guitarist David Hildago began noodling with a song. Simon perked up.
The song became Graceland’s “The Myth of Fingerprints.”
When Graceland was released, Los Lobos received no credit. When asked why they were met with silence. Eventually, Simon reached out and allegedly said: “Sue me. See what happens.”
Los Lobos didn’t sue.
