Nobody falls in love to fall out of love. We didn’t need a judge, priest, rabbi, or minister, we just committed.
But …life happens to us all.
I thought I wanted more, or at least something different. I told myself that she did too, but we never talked about it.
Stepping out was something we never discussed.
I came very close — never told her.
I never asked her — didn’t want to know.
One night I smiled at her and she kissed my cheek.
The fire was re-lit.
It had never died.
We all grow and change.
So does love.
