“the efficacy of psychedelics in treating mental illnesses is still unclear.” — there are studies that make the same argument for FDA approved drugs for mental illness, etc. Like ANY drug, everyone will react and respond differently. They CAN be useful…but so can ECT. There just isn’t enough research on the subject yet. I am a very strong supporter because my reaction has been positive. As Nancy points out below, assisted trips are definitely helpful.
