The only outcomes from war — death, depression or defeat.

A sniper’s body lives, their soul dies.

Back home I created a niche market.

It was meant to be a surprise. 
I staged the break-in, waited.

The garage door opened.
I felt my heart slow, screwed on the silencer.

She walked in and I walked towards her as something warm and wet ran down my cheek. 
She smiled. 
She knew.

Two to the head.

I stepped over the body.

“Okay” I called out as I walked to the front door.

A broken and weary “Thanks” came the reply.

“Bye Dad.”
