What do you get when you combine a married couple, a father as drummer and his daughter as lead singer, and a college professor?
You get Bad Mary.
There is unadulterated rock and roll… and then there’s Bad Mary. A band whose essence is raw and untamed, the bellows with punk snark and rebellion.
Bad Mary is:
Father Bill Mac (drummer) and his daughter Amanda Mac (lead vocals)
Amanda’s husband, Mike Staub (bass)
Mike and Amanda’s former Hofstra University Professor David Henderson (guitar)
Bad Mary embodies a spirit reminiscent of the old guard, The Ramones, The Clash, Blondie, and Elvis Costello - yet with a modern edge.
In Bad Mary, you can hear the echoes of anarchy inherent in punk with a touch of that new-wave ironic detachment.
Since its inception, Bad Mary has epitomized the essence of DIY culture, shunning conformity and embracing authenticity.
Their discography, a testament to their evolution, reflects the struggles and triumphs of everyday life. With songs like "We Could Have Saved the World,” Bad Mary's music will strike a deep chord within the soul.
The band has cultivated a fervent following, lighting stages on fire (not literally) with their blistering performances in local haunts to clawing its way on to the national stage. I might argue, that’s because its unapologetic songs are an outcry against the mundane.
Beyond the music, Bad Mary is a beacon of hope in a world marred by chaos. Their commitment to community, the rock and roll community, speaks volumes about their character.
In the dimly lit clubs and crowded streets, Bad Mary’s presence is a reminder of the power of authenticity in a world plagued by pretense.
For those who dare to listen, their music offers solace, a rallying cry for the disenchanted and the disillusioned. Bad Mary stands tall in the hallowed halls of punk rock, a testament to the enduring spirit of rebellion.

Great band! Although, I hate it when bands/musicians are asked, "Who do you sound like", because that says, "You're totally unoriginal", and you want to sound like your band and have your sound. Bad Mary definitely has their own sound. All that said, I do have to say I hear a hint of early No Doubt in there, too. 😁
